Ataraxia Theatre First Beginning of storyline Previous comic Next comic Today's comic Transplant Comics

Newfoundlanders have something that Great Big Sea once described as "Ironic Detachment". We tend to laugh at things other people would find tragic. It's a survival mechanism... Really, you try living on a barren rock in the middle of the frigid North Atlantic for 300 years and see how you cope with it.

That's what this issue of Atarxia Theatre was supposed to be about: the tension between comedy and tragedy. Or between pathos and pathetic.

In somewhat unrelated news, recently my wife and I visited the Comics World Comic Convention in Pusan. You can see pictures here. This was actually my first ever comics convention. It was a lot of fun. Lots of cosplayers wanted to pose with me since I was the only foreigner in attendance. Before you ask, no I do not have any more pictures of the woman with the cowboy hat.
