Darcy Generic's first appearance was in the University of Waterloo's mathNEWS newsletter. In that story he was to uncover a conspiracy to assassinate Jean Chrétien using the Hubble Space Laser. At the end of the story Darcy saved Chretien, but he was then arrested by CSIS agents who thought he was trying to attack the Prime Minister with a frying pan.

Unfortunately, that story was never completed. Hopefully this one will fare better.
