Every cartoonist needs to do at least one guru on a mountaintop bit. The great thing is,
all I have to do is change the text in the word balloons and I could have a month's worth
of filler strips.
By classical definition a tragedy is any work in which the end state is worse than the
beginning, and a comedy is any work in which the beginning is worse than the end.
These days we usually just say that sad things are tragedy while
funny things are comedy. It's been said that comedy is tragedy plus timing, while
anyone who's ever been to amateur night at a comedy club will know that comedy without
timing is tragic.
