While searching through ComicMatch a few days ago, I discovered that people who like Ataraxia Theatre also tend to like Voids. Voids is another of the fine comics from the Transplant Collective. It's been on my to-read list for a while now; last night I finally sat down and read the first chapter. I was very impressed. It's a quiet story about a woman, the pennies she finds on the street, and the voids in all our lives. The art is very stylized and matches the action well. Voids feels like it should be a Fantagraphics book. I was pleased to see that John Thornton of The Man Who Hates Fun and Adam York Gregory of The Flowfield Unity are also fans. Apparently, a total of nine books are planned for the series. I look forward to reading the rest of them. |
