This has been a bad week for my comics work. My three week buffer has shrunk to two and a half weeks. I haven't gotten much work done on the Voles of the Dusk print collection. Most of the blame can be laid squarely at the giant metallic feet of my game, GearHead. This week I set up the new GearHead website and did a lot of work on the random story generator. I'm happy to say that GearHead2 is rapidly becoming just as addictive as its predecesor... of course, sometimes that can be a bad thing. The second thing I want to blame is The Gimp, specifically version 2.4. It seems that this update has wrecked tablet support for the pen, pencil and eraser tools (as related on the Transplant Forum). Since posting the linked rant I've calmed down somewhat and learned how to appreciate the ink tool. I'm still sore about the loss of the pen, pencil, and eraser, though. The final things I want to blame are my shoes. The new shoes I picked up in Canada hurt my feet. Sure, that may seem like a lame excuse for falling behind on my illustration schedule, but if you read many webcomics I'm certain that you've heard worse. |
